Not so common are those willing to swim through icy water, scale 12 foot high walls, plow through a field full of live electrical wires and belly-crawl through the mud under barbed wire, all for an organization that supports wounded warriors. 13 members of the”Kelser Krew” completed the physical challenge of a lifetime together on May 31st, in the New England Tough Mudder.

The Tough Mudder is a 10-12 mile obstacle course intended to test all facets of one’s character: resiliency, spirit, stamina, determination, and collaboration. Tough Mudder states that for its participants, “life is about pushing boundaries and overcoming all obstacles through teamwork—and having fun along the way.”

“This is the second year we've participated in the event,” related Kelser Marketing Coordinator & Krew member Henry Hotkowski. “Not only is it an incredible test of stamina and will that supports a great cause, it is a fantastic team-building event and lots of fun.”

Krew members were pushed above and beyond their limits as they handled obstacles such as the Funky Monkey, Cage Crawl, Electroshock Therapy, and the Arctic Enema. Despite their months of both individual and collective training, the Kelser Krew relied heavily on the support and encouragement of team members for their ultimate success.

Through the Tough Mudder, over 6 million dollars have been raised to help thousands of returning troops and their families.
