Press Release: Kelser Corporation Sponsors Inaugural Connecticut Cycling Festival

News | Foundation | Press Release

On September 22, information technology solutions provider Kelser Corporation supported the first ever Connecticut Cycling Festival. The event supported The Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program (CCAP), a non-profit organization whose goal is to create a support system for youth development in the sport of cycling. Kelser, working through its philanthropic foundation, joined Connecticut operating companies including Travelers, Aetna, Henkel, Murtha Cullina, Connecticare and more in sponsoring the event.

Kelser’s Marketing Manager Lisa Carroll coordinates the Kelser Foundation’s charitable activities. She related, “Kelser is a Connecticut based business founded in 1981. We have supported local and national charities and programs extensively since our inception, executing our philanthropic activities via the Kelser Foundation. We were thrilled to be onboard for this exciting event and look forward to much success for years to come.”

The festival included a challenging 8 corner course in picturesque downtown Hartford, open to different categories of racers as well as the “Citizens Ride”, open to all non-racers who wanted to enjoy riding the course. Also included in the daylong event were food vendors, bicycle manufacturers, cycling advocacy groups, charitable organizations, regional businesses, and more at the CT Cycling Festival's Expo.

“We’re really excited about how the first year’s event turned out,” related Aidan Charles, Executive Director of the CCAP. “The feedback we've received has energized us even more to do great things next year at the CT Cycling Festival. With partners like Kelser, and other great businesses on board, we’re looking forward to growing this event and the community around it in a big way over the next few years.”

2013 has been a busy year for the Kelser Foundation, highlighted by last week’s sold out charity golf tournament supporting the American Lung Association. This fall, employees of Kelser will climb Springfield, Massachusetts’ tallest building in support of the ALA and participate in a clothing drive supporting Vietnam Veterans of America, among other activities.
