Press Release: The Kelser Foundation Springs into a Season of Giving
Hartford, CT – The Kelser Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Kelser Corporation, today announced its spring charity initiatives for 2013. Supporting the Kelser spirit of giving, these activities will give back to the community while supporting healthy lung research and advocacy, youth development and education, and special needs programs in various organizations. Starting with the American Lung Association Fight for Air Climb on April 6th, the season looks to be a busy one for the Foundation.
The Fight for Air Climb takes place at City Place in downtown Hartford, with participants racing, running and walking up to the top of the building (34 stories) to support the American Lung Association and its mission to improve lung health and prevent lung disease. The “Kelser Krew” team of 19 will represent the Foundation in the climb.
“Philanthropy is deeply entrenched in our company culture,” says Kelser Marketing Manager, Lisa Carroll, who oversees the Foundation’s activities. “As with all of our events, we are partnering with organizations whose efforts are directly focused on our local community. We look forward to a busy and successful 2013 for the Foundation!”
Following the Climb, the Foundation will continue their support of the ALA with the Evening of Life and Breath Gala in Simsbury, CT on April 12. This fundraising evening includes dinner, entertainment and a silent auction. Kelser has supported this event annually since 2002.
The Foundation’s spring activities continue with sponsorship of the Evening of Fine Wines, a wine-tasting event which supports the Manchester Community College Foundation. Every year, the foundation works to achieve its goal of funding and supporting student programs, scholarships and equipment. Kelser has sponsored this event and the Foundation since 2010. Next year celebrates the college’s 50th Anniversary, at which Kelser will show its support as the Title Sponsor.
The Travelers Championship, part of the PGA tour and formerly the Greater Hartford Open, is Connecticut’s premier sporting event and supports countless charities throughout the region. This year’s dates are June 17-23, 2013. Kelser has supported this event since 1992 and again will host a skybox on the 17th green.
