Job Title: Help Desk Manager
Location: 43 Western Boulevard, Glastonbury, CT
Type: Full Time
Reports to: VP of Engineering & Managed Services 

The Help Desk Manager will be the primary resource, supervising Help Desk staff who will monitor and provide technical support for both managed services and traditional customers. Inbound technical support (service desk) for managed service accounts represents an important portion of the responsibility for this position. Specifically, the HD Manager will be responsible for supporting infrastructure systems and software, such as: Windows Desktop, Windows Server, Mac OS, printing, basic network, patch/anti-virus management, backup and mobility.

This position is external customer-facing and communication, and customer service skills are critical. The position may include nights, weekends, and holiday coverage. A successful HD Manager will become a very valuable and contributing part of the Kelser culture.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote Kelser products and services
  • Support Kelser and external customers with:
    • Systems monitoring and maintenance
    • Systems administration
    • Inbound customer support requests
    • ConnectWise experience is strongly preferred.
  • Service delivery via excellent communication and customer service
  • Attend and comprehend training
  • Attain certifications as required
  • Accurate daily time tracking/accounting
  • Stay current and be aware of emerging technologies and products
  • Availability on a scheduled basis for off-hours and/or on-call assignments
  • Other duties aligned with skillset, as directed by Kelser staff
  • Ability to safely lift 45 pounds occasionally

Technical Requirements:

  • Operating Systems (OS: Windows Server and desktop, Linux, Apple and VMware vSphere/ESXi)
  • Microsoft Infrastructure (Active Directory, File/Print, Remote Desktop)
  • Basic Network - data link and IP switching, routing, firewall and wireless access points)
  • Basic Network Application Services
  • Storage / Data Protection (backup and disaster recovery)
  • Security - Anti-malware, OS and 3rd party patching
  • Email (Microsoft Hosted Exchange / Office 365, SMTP services, anti-spam/anti-virus)
  • Network Security (vulnerability scanning/remediation)
  • Management of MSP platforms, including automation and maintenance 

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 3 year(s) of current “hands-on” experience with products outlined above.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills including root-cause determination.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
