Modernizing Manchester Community College's technology to improve the student experience.
Most software packages for application and endpoint management are designed to be used in a business setting, not a college campus. How do you transform that into something which will work in an educational environment, with an incredibly diverse application set?
The Kelser team started by recognizing the importance of the student experience. We studied classrooms in action and got a real sense of how students and faculty interacted with their environment. These insights became key drivers of our design decisions as we worked to meet the project’s objectives of providing virtualized desktop services to as many MCC students, faculty and staff as possible, and giving the college campus a technologically modern feel.
From inception to close-out, our team worked hand-in-hand with MCC’s staff, using best-of-breed hardware and software solutions, such as Cisco, VMware and Unidesk, for application layering and virtual desktop composition. Kelser’s mentored delivery ensured the college’s staff were fully equipped to take on management of their new environment. MCC’s deans and directors can expect an enhanced overall user experience, consistent delivery of applications, and streamlined support, as the college is positioned for a growing and dynamic future.
