Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer
Location: Glastonbury, CT
Type: Full Time
Reports to: VP, Engineering Services

The Senior Systems Engineer (SSE) is the primary resource for architecture, implementation and advanced support of client infrastructure in a managed services environment, as well as pre-sales support.

The SSE is responsible for advanced level support of server infrastructure, complex network environments, cloud and hybrid cloud based architectures, virtualization and associated technologies.

This individual should possess comprehensive VMware and Windows infrastructure expertise, including the delivery of these services to our customers. Communication and customer service skills are also vital in this client-facing role.

Responsibilities

  • Support Kelser customers with project delivery, server monitoring and administration and pre-sales engineering support
  • Service delivery via excellent communication and customer service
  • Attend and comprehend training
  • Ability to achieve higher level certifications
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and products
  • Availability for off-hours or on-call assignments
  • Other duties as determined by Kelser management

Requirements

  • Advanced in-depth, hands-on experience with:
    • AWS, Azure, Hosted IaaS, PaaS offerings
    • Windows Server and Exchange support implementation and administration
    • AD administration and forest upgrades
    • Office 365 migrations
    • Exchange/Windows Server
    • Workstation build automation
    • Complex ESX support, implementation and administration
  • Previous experience in an MSP or consulting role
  • Knowledge of network security concepts and tools
  • Ability to triage and handle multiple, simultaneous workstreams
  • MCSE preferred, VCP preferred
  • Advanced storage and hyperconverged experience a plus
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Project documentation (diagramming, written, etc.)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
