Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO)

Job Title: Virtual Chief Information Officer

Reports to: VP, Engineering Services

We are looking for an energetic, customer facing Virtual Chief Information Officer. The vCIO will provide strategic IT planning, budgeting, direction to our managed services clients. This role focuses primarily on the business relationship with the client and leveraging technical resources to improve their operational efficiencies. Client satisfaction, contract renewals, and uncovering additional sales opportunities are the responsibility of the vCIO. The ideal candidate will possess 3+ years of experience with IT Strategic Management, focused on driving strategic initiatives and client success by understanding their client’s business and aligning technology to meet requirements. This position is external customer facing, so communication and customer service skills are extremely important. A successful vCIO will become a valuable and contributing part of the Kelser culture. Responsibilities
  • Promote Kelser products and services
  • Support Kelser and external customers with:
    • Conduct regular status and business review meetings for each client to understand short and long term business goals
    • Create, present, and implement annual technology roadmaps, budgets, and reports for each client
    • Communicate potential risks related to cybersecurity, network security and industry specific compliance
    • Identify new opportunities to use technology to streamline business processes
    • Oversee internal support and engineering resources to ensure successful delivery of services to clients
    • Educate clients on current technology trends relevant to their specific industry
  • Technical Knowledge Requirements:
    • Operating Systems (OS: Windows Server and desktop, Linux, Apple and VMware vSphere/ESXi)
    • Microsoft Platform
    • Security (Managed Antimalware, OS and 3rd party patching)
    • Email (Microsoft Hosted Exchange / Office 365, SMTP services, anti-spam/anti-virus)
    • Network Security (integrated security solutions and vulnerability scanning / remediation)
  • Availability on a scheduled basis for off-hours and/or on-call assignments
Requirements
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible IT Management. Prior client management or MSP experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage communication and relationships with senior executive business stakeholders.
  • Experience in the IT budgeting process
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Additional technical or industry certifications a plus.
