Warehouse and Delivery Driver

Location: Kelser Warehouse, Windsor, CT
Type: Full Time
Reports to: Manager, Logistics

The Warehouse & Delivery Driver is responsible for the preparation and delivery of orders to Kelser’s customers, on time and accurately, while meeting Kelser and customer procedures and requirements. This key position is a frontline customer facing role.


A successful Warehouse & Delivery Driver will become a valuable and contributing part of Kelser culture. Kelser is willing to train the appropriate candidate. This is an entry level position offering a potential upward path in technology within Kelser.

Responsibilities
  • Load and unload trucks, by hand or pallet jack
  • Stock products received on a daily basis and place in designated areas
  • Pick orders and capture any required data
  • Pack outgoing shipments correctly to avoid any damage in transit
  • Scan or type outgoing shipments, operate RF scanners to accurately fill orders and effectively manage inventory
  • Remove trash & cardboard daily along with general cleaning, organizing & sweepinga
  • Adhere to health and safety policies when performing picking assignments
  • Safely operate forklifts or pallet jacks to move warehouse materials adhering to proper safety instructions and as directed
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and organized workplace at all times
  • Participate in IT deployments at customer locations
  • Prepare orders for and deliver IT products to Kelser’s customers while meeting the following requirements:
    • Pick and prepare products for orders to be delivered
    •  Verify accuracy of the product to be delivered with the order paperwork
    •  Deliver orders to the correct customers and contacts
    • Follow Kelser procedures for processing of the order paperwork
    •  Unbox and setup the product at the customer site as required including waste removal if appropriate
  • Receive product into our ERP system
  • Represent Kelser in a positive, ethical, and professional manner at all times
  • Operate van and box truck in a safe and courteous manner, maintain cleanliness
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to lift 50lbs, stand, bend, twist for 5-6 hours
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to accurately perform duties
  • Education – High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum one year of experience in computer applications including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software programs related to function
  • Previous shipping and receiving experience preferred
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification; operating a hand operated pallet jack
  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder
  • Ability to follow procedures, verbal and written directions
  • Basic PC skills and basic understanding of PC systems and technology
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with customers
  • The ability to communicate via written messages, including neat, legible handwriting
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to prioritize and work accurately and work well as part of a team
  • Valid State driver’s license – CT or MA
  • Clean driving record
  • State of Connecticut Medical Examiners Certificate, background check and DMV report will be required
  • Medical Card and any other appropriate DOT requirements – non-CDL
  • Pass TSA Security Threat Assessment
