Event Recap: The First Tee of Connecticut Grand Opening Jamboree

Kelser Corporation’s philanthropic arm, the Kelser Foundation, recently supported the First Tee of Connecticut as it celebrated its Grand Opening Jamboree. Donated were over 260 brand new items including golf shirts and jackets, hats and mugs to support the young golfers in the program. Complimentary professional photography was also provided by Kelser to document the event. The First Tee program joins the ranks of organizations such as Vietnam Veterans of America, American Lung Association, Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Travelers Championship and others, as beneficiaries of the foundation.

About the First Tee of Connecticut:
The First Tee of Connecticut is reaching thousands of youth each year through a variety of programs including In-School Instruction, the National School Program, Group Lessons, Squads and Teams and Summer Camps. Along with golf instruction, The First Tee's Life Skills curriculum based on a set of Nine Core Values; Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Courtesy, Judgment, Confidence, Responsibility and Perseverance and Nine Healthy Habits; Energy, Play, Safety, Vision, Mind, Family, Friends, School and Community.

Recognizing that the game of golf embodies these core values, The First Tee of Connecticut believes that participating in these programs will improve the lives of those who embrace the game’s traditions and values. The First Tee of Connecticut is an initiative of the Connecticut Golf Foundation, Inc., a 501 (c) (3) organization. The Connecticut Golf Foundation was created to expose golf to underprivileged youth who might not normally have access to the game. The driving force behind the Connecticut Golf Foundation’s creation in 1997 was the Connecticut State Golf Association (CSGA).
